Using the Inbox
Learn how to use the Inbox to manage unplaced nodes from Planning and Data Grid views.
What is the Inbox?
The Inbox in the Unified View explorer lists graph nodes and wiki pages that are not placed on the active view. A node can belong to one view and still appear in the Inbox of another: placement is per view, not global. Removing a node from a view removes that membership; it does not delete the node.
Find and filter items
Open the Inbox tab in the Unified View explorer. Search matches an item's label or node type. The Show menu offers:
- Not on this view — items not placed on the active view, including items already placed on another view.
- Not on any view — items not placed on any view.
- All unplaced — currently the same as Not on this view.
The checkbox Also show grouped nodes by type additionally shows nodes that are nested under a parent in the type groups.
Place items
Drag a node or wiki page from the Inbox onto the canvas. You can also use All to add every item in the current Inbox result to the active view, or the + on a type group to add all items in that group. These bulk actions use the currently selected filter.
Wiki pages appear as Inbox entries and can be dragged or bulk-added like nodes; adding one creates its graph representation on the view.
Remove an item from a view
Select Remove from View from the node's context menu to remove its membership in the active view without deleting it. A node placed on another view remains there. It will appear in the Inbox according to the selected filter.
